Riz steunt Haïti met download

Riz gaf met She Loves Me direct zijn visitekaartje af door de top vijf van de XChart te bereiken.
Zijn nieuwe track Rescue Me kun je nu gratis downloaden op FunX.fm. Op de website van Riz (AddictedToRiz.com) staat een knop waar geld gedoneerd kan worden. De volledige opbrengst daarvan gaat naar het Haiti Relief Fund. Zij proberen de slachtoffers van de aardbeving op Haïti op alle mogelijke manieren te voorzien in hun behoeften.

As we all know, tragedy recently befell the innocent civilians of Haiti. When I stepped into the studio last week, I couldn't help but to continue thinking of all the pain and suffering occurring. With so many who have lost their loved ones, homes, lives, belongings and sense of content, I felt an obligation to write a tribute to these people. My heart goes out to them. It was difficult to describe in words. So I spent my night trying to express the way we feel about this situation and "RESCUE ME" is what came out of the studio that night.

Het begon voor de zanger allemaal met een samenwerking met producer Roy Hamilton, de man achter Joe's "Stutter", Britney's "I Got That Boom Boom" en een groot aantal hits van R. Kelly, K-Ci & Jojo, 'N Sync en Michael Jackson.

Een korte periode later kwam Akon één van zijn tracks tegen en vond de tekst zo creatief dat hij hem uitnodigde voor de songwriters hoek van zijn label Konvict. In de jaren die hierop volgden ontwikkelde de jonge RIZ zich in zijn schrijftalent, maar ook in het dansen, zingen en optreden. Hij haalt zijn inspiratie uit optredens van Bob Marley, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson en sterren van deze tijd: Usher, R. Kelly en Sean Paul.
