Shontelle laat een andere kant zien in Perfect Nightmare

Impossible is nog maar net uit de charts verdwenen of de opvolger Perfect Nightmare staat al klaar. Op haar nieuwe single zingt Shontelle haar frustraties van zich af. De videoclip vertelt het verhaal van de zangeres die haar vriend wil dumpen, door alle pijn die ze heeft moeten doorstaan.

Shontelle kiest met Perfect Nightmare voor een up-tempo track, omdat ze niet het label 'balladzangeres' opgeplakt wil krijgen. "Ik wilde een beweeglijkere single, omdat iedereen me kent als 'die zangeres van ballads'. Dat terwijl ik eigenlijk een party girl ben!"

Perfect Nightmare en Impossible staan op Shontelle's tweede studio album No Gravity. Ondanks het succes van de vorige single valt de verkoop tot nu toe vies tegen. De cd ging in de Verenigde Staten 'maar' 7000 keer over de toonbank in de eerste week.
