Het werd al snel duidelijk dat dit het jaar van Despacito was, want de wereldhit leverde alleen al een hele rits aan awards op voor Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi en Justin Bieber, namelijk die van hot Latin song of the year; hot Latin song of the year, vocal event; airplay song of the year; digital song of the year; streaming song of the year; en Latin pop song of the year.

Daddy Yankee

Daddy Yankee won zes prijzen voor Despacito waar hij als schrijver en artiest bij betrokken was. Daarnaast werd hij verkozen tot Latin rhythm artist of the year, solo, en won jij een award voor songwriter of the year. Luis Fonsi en Justin Bieber namen allebei zeven awards mee en Ozuna mag zich een jaar lang Artist of the Year noemen.
